Let’s get this straight. Both men and women cheat, but the reasons are not always the same. Most people believe that the reason men cheat is because they are men. Well, although it is rarely simple, the reasons people cheat are filled with signs. Women, straight or gay, are no different. We all have needs, wants and desires that one person may not be able to satisfy. Here I hope to shed some light into why with these.

1. Excitement – New can be exciting. Every girl can appreciate a shiny new boy. When romance is lacking in a relationship, this can serve as an opening to look for fun elsewhere. Getting to know them and feeling the thrill of the ride can also stimulate the relationship at home.
2. Loneliness – If you are a workaholic, obsessive over your fitness routine, spend more time with your friends or find other ways to entertain yourself, then she will eventually do the same or someone else will invite her to do so.
3. Sexual Satisfaction – If you have not found how to drive her crazy in bed, then she will seek pleasure from someone who will. Make sure you are giving her the pleasure she deserves and wants, and this won’t be the reason she will stray.
4. Attention – In this age of online entertainment, we often become friends with and connect with strangers who don’t always respect the fact that you may be in a relationship. With extra time on our hands, it is easy to slip into an innocent conversation that takes on a little flirting, a few innuendos, and next the invitation for a face-to-face meeting. Give your woman your full attention and she won’t have time to squeeze in another lover.
5. Weakness – Co-workers, the guy at the local grocery store, a neighbor, the pool guy – temptation is always lurking. It may be nothing you are doing or failing to do. All of his sweet little nothings just maybe more than she can refuse.
6. Addiction – When it’s more than a weakness, it can be an addiction. We have heard all the reports about women who are addicted to sex and sometimes the perks that come from the one she’s cheating with.
7. Financial Gain – When the perks aren’t enough and she has basic needs and wants that are not being afforded by her income (and yours), she may turn to the oldest profession. However, it may be to support her future endeavors and its paying their way through college.
8. Revenge – She said she forgave your infidelity, and the relationship seems to move along peachy, but you’ve notices some changes in her. Maybe she wears perfume more often or started wearing her sexy lingerie every day. You thought it was to keep you home. But the tide has turned and now she has to work late more often.
These are only a few reasons to the age-old problem of cheating, however, human beings are not monogamous creatures. We use fear tactics and religion to keep ourselves in line. A perfect example of our need to stray is the 7 year itch. The scratch is sometimes just a tickle that needs massaged.
